Visit the shelter Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. When ready, print and complete an adoption application and bring it to the shelter. Upon approval, you will receive the adoption agreement, receipt, and a microchip registration to fill out. If your new dog has not been spayed or neutered yet, an appointment will be scheduled for a later date. The Calhoun County Animal Center reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone they believe will not provide an adequate home.
The cat adoption fees for adult cats are $75, while kittens are priced at $100. These fees cover initial shots/vaccinations, FIV/FeLV tests, a microchip, flea treatment, and spay/neuter surgery if the cat is not already fixed. For those adopting a second cat or kitten on the same day, the fee is reduced to $50 and includes all necessary medical procedures.
