Battle Creek Animal Control:

Responding to numerous animal-related complaints annually, Animal Control Officers (ACOs) address various issues, including barking dogs, stray cats and dogs, and instances of aggressive animals. ACOs play a crucial role in investigating animal welfare and cruelty complaints and managing the removal of deceased animals from city streets. They primarily enforce Chapter 8 of the Battle Creek City Code of Ordinances and applicable state laws.

In collaboration with the Calhoun County Animal Center, the Battle Creek Police Department ensures the housing and care of impounded cats and dogs. Battle Creek faces a growing challenge with feral cat colonies, and, to address this, Animal Control is actively engaged with Companion Cats, a non-profit organization. Together, they’re implementing a trap, neuter, and release program to manage the feral cat population.

For assistance or to report concerns during normal working hours (7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday), please contact Animal Control at the police non-emergency number: 269-781-0911.
