Pet Adoption at Taylor Animal Shelter:

Dog adoption and cat adoption services are both provided at this animal shelter. Visit the shelter during its operating hours from Monday to Friday, 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. (closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), to adopt an animal.

Stray or injured animals

Residents of Taylor can bring any stray or injured domestic animal to the shelter without incurring any charges. The shelter is conveniently situated on Northline Road, between the Department of Public Works Building and Lakes of Taylor Golf Club, at 25555 Northline Road, Taylor, MI 48180.

Wildlife

Transporting wildlife to the Taylor Animal Shelter is not permissible, as it goes against the law without the appropriate permit. If you come across wildlife needing shelter within the City of Taylor, Michigan, please contact the shelter, and Officers will be sent to retrieve it. Rat Poison is available for pickup at the Animal Shelter during regular business hours.

License Your Pet:

Per state regulations, dogs aged four months and above must be licensed in their residing county. Licenses operate on a calendar year basis. Starting mid-December each year, you can obtain licenses for the upcoming year. License services are available at the shelter from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. (closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). Ensure your dog’s license within 30 days of ownership or by the time your furry friend hits four months.

License costs are budget-friendly, and payments are processed using credit/debit cards only. Upon completion, you will receive both a physical license tag and a paper version of your license.
